The used Toyota Carina for sale is not the kind of deal you would want to skip. It’s the wagon/family van that came out in the 1970s and was phased out by year 2000. Eventually, it could end up as a collector’s van because of its limited manufacturing volume. You can never tell but in most cases, situations like this, the value of the car ended up increasing by at least double its original value. This makes the used Toyota Carina for sale a pretty darn good investment.

If you have never seen or heard of the Toyota Carina, here’s a list of what you can expect to find:
- You can recline the seat and the head restraints are built-in. This makes the van ideal for those who like to sleep and go on long trips
- When you reverse, you may be surprised to hear a mild beeping nose or flashing lights. This is the warning signals in the Toyota Carina that used to be quite unique in the 1970s. It’s not something you see nowadays and it is possible to retain it or have it adjusted. Of course, it was an option at that time, so there are Toyota Carinas that don’t have this feature at all
- It has a brake booster so the driver gets assistance known as servo-assistance
In the US, the Toyota Carina vans have always been a rare sight. It was only sold for 2 years before Toyota pulled the plug in response to a 10% import tax. The company decided to put up facilities in the US but by the time that happened, the Toyota Carina was no longer a viable option. Toyota had other vans to offer.
For this reason, if you are going to buy a used Toyota Carina, ask the seller if they have an owner’s manual in English. It’s too much of a hassle to try and figure out the van without an English manual. If the seller insists that the manual is available online, then have him download the English online manual and give you a hard copy before proceeding with the sale.
Car buyers should identify the model they are interested in before asking for a test drive. If a buyer is not sure of the model they are interested in, they will end up wasting a dealer-time. Sales people and car dealers only allow customers who are committed to put their cars on the road for test driving. Be a serious buyer and do not waste a lot of the dealers’ time by trying out several models. Buying a car is not the same as buying a dress. Cars are machines and a buyer should be clear in their mind what specific model they are looking for and how much they are ready to spend.

Before taking a car for a test drive, do a thorough check of the vehicle to confirm if every other feature is in-order. If it is a family car, find out if it is the right car for your family needs and if the fuel consumptions are right and within you budget. Some dealers upon a customer showing interest in a specific vehicle will allow them to have the car for the night. This enables the buyer to have a better feeling of the car. While out on a test-drive take note of the grip of the tires, are they noisy or within the normal range.
It is better to have a color and make of the car in mind. Sometimes when a buyer is not sure of what models they are looking for, sales-people take advantage of swaying them to buy cars that are not right for their family needs. Once inside the car, have a feel of the steering and the fitting if it is right. It is also important before turning on the key whether there is enough leg-room or enough space to turn. Some cars are fitted in a way that it is impossible to move the seat. Prove all this before taking that desired test drive.
For those who are physically challenged in away, find out if the dealers have special cars that can be of more comfort and within your price range. Do not be swayed by the sales-person, be clear in mind and buy the right car.
At the same time, allowing them to keep driving as long as they pass an annual physical exam is giving them the liberty to live their lives without being dependent on others or the public transportation system. Being able to increase their driving pleasure should be done with maturity and care. At this age, they are very sensitive and you would be to when you get to this age and suddenly become confronted by so many obstacles.
Some of the features that should be in the car to make their driving pleasure more enhanced would be power steering, excellent headlights, and a dependable car. At the same time, younger relatives can encourage senior citizens to plan their daily trips with more care, giving themselves no reason to rush from one place to another. Confirm in them that they can drive at their own pace but not too slow because that would be inviting trouble. They should also avoi8d rush hour traffic and too many turns on their route. Finally, a refresher course would be a good idea to remind them new traffic rules or routes, as well as keeping them in tune with new roads and infrastructure so they don’t get disoriented when driving.
If you are one of those who are driving for some time or you have an interest in cars and vehicles then you must know the basic difference between a manual and an automatic car and you can easily choose that which one is better for you to have. There are lots of those people also who do not care that what type of car is they driving, they just wanted to reach their desired place without going through the public transport. So here are some of the main differences that you can feel between a manual and an automatic car.

First of all you have to look at the cost impact of these two types of cars. People say that the used automatic cars are expensive as compare to used manual cars and this is somewhat true before some time but now days they are not as expensive as they used to be in the past. But you can still see that the brand new automatic cars are still more expensive than the manual cars. The other thing that is said frequently about these automatic cars is that they consume more fuel as compare to automatic cars and hence not cost effective. In term of maintenance the automatic cars are more expensive as compare to manual cars. For example if the clutches of your cars need to be replaced then it will be easy for you to replace the clutch of a manual car, because it is also not very much expensive.
If you are an expert driver than you prefer to use a manual car than automatic because it is easy to control a manual car because of all three pedals are controlled by the person himself. But if you wanted to have a convenient and easy way then you will prefer the automatic transmission. You can find these cars from your area as there are many dealers who are selling these types of cars. Once you know all these important features of the cars then you should select the car very wisely so that you will not have to regret in future.

4 Tips for Drivers on Car Maintenance
Smart drivers know that car maintenance is essential to extending the life and performance of their cars. More importantly, it will prevent accidents from a malfunction, burst tire, or weak brakes. There are so many things that can go wrong with a car that preventive maintenance could eliminate. Here are some useful tips on the proper car maintenance for drivers.
Have A Basic Tool Kit
Every car should have the following: screwdriver, pliers, jack, tire gauge, flashlight, extra batteries for the flashlight, reflectors, chains for winter snow, and one gallon bottle of water. You can put in the chain when winter comes around. The gallon of water can be for cooling the radiator in summer or adding more water to control the temperature.
Regular Oil Change
Each car model should have a recommended mileage for when to change the oil. Know what your car’s requirements are, and keep a log book on every oil change. The oil is important because it keeps all the moving parts lubricated. Without enough oil in your car, the engine parts will be wear down because they grind against each other. You car’s oil is also needed to make sure your engine stays cool.
Never run near empty
There are many drivers who enjoy playing with the gas level in their car. Aside from being at risk of going empty, it can also damage your car. Your fuel pump will not be able to function properly, and this is not a cheap part. It can also be a part that is not readily available. It’s not like there are auto parts stores scattered all over, and gas stations don’t carry these items.
Check your tires and brakes regularly
Once your brakes start making noise, get a mechanic to check it. However, this won’t be a problem if you get your brakes checked regularly. It’s especially important to prevent your brakes from getting drenched. This can happen if you pass through ankle high water. If you can’t avoid it, then after you drive away from the shallow flood, pump your brake pedal to check if its sticks or not. As soon as you can, get someone to look at it.
